1.a Global Goals for Global Citizens
The media are chockfull of bad news about catastrophes, wars, violence, hunger, etc. But there is also much good news, which does not get the attention it deserves.
1.b UN
The UN was founded on October 24, 1945, on the ruins of the Second World War. 51 countries committed themselves to keeping peace through international cooperation. Today 193 countries – nearly every country in the world – are members.
1.c UNESCO and ASP
UNESCO is the UN’s organization for education, science, culture and communication. The constitution of UNESCO was signed by 20 countries on November 16, 1945.
1.d Global Goals
2015 was an important year in the history of the world. It was in this year that world leaders agreed on new and important goals for the future: Global Goals for Sustainable Development, also called Global Goals or World Goals.
